The portfolio piece nobody else has

One built thing outperforms a page of certifications, in almost every field.

Certifications prove you attended. Built things prove you can finish. In a stack of similar candidates, the person with something they made is remembered.

It does not have to be big

A small tool that solves a real problem beats an ambitious half finished one. The point is that it exists, it works, and you can explain every decision in it.

Engineers: something deployed and running, with the operational story attached. Designers: a case study showing the thinking, not just the final screens. Architects: a competition entry. Procurement: a supplier scorecard or a category strategy you can talk through.

Write about it, or it is invisible

An artefact nobody can find does not help you. A short write up of what you built, what broke, and what you would do differently is the part that gets read, and the part that demonstrates judgement rather than just output.

Use it as the interview anchor

Interviews go better when you have a thing to talk about that you actually care about. It changes your register from performing to explaining, and interviewers notice the difference immediately.

The common mistake

People build the portfolio piece and never put it on the CV, or bury it under education. Put it in the top third, with a link, and name the outcome.

Find roles that actually fit

Upload your CV and AgentFlow AI reads your field, level and skills from it, then matches you against thousands of live postings. The file is parsed in your browser and never uploaded.
