Procurement roles and the remote wall

Six remote roles out of 986, and the pivot that actually opens the market.

We scanned 986 procurement postings across eight titles and four regions. Six mentioned remote work, and every one was locked to a country the applicant would need the right to work in.

Why procurement is tied down

It sits next to finance, legal and physical supply. Contracts are governed by a jurisdiction, suppliers are audited in person, and approvals sit in a local ERP. The role is anchored by design.

The pivot that is not anchored

There is a version of procurement that is remote by default and hires internationally: the systems side. Source to pay implementation, SAP MM functional consulting, Ariba and Coupa work, procurement digital transformation, ERP procurement analysis.

Those are project based, delivered remotely as standard, and frequently contracted rather than salaried. If you have run procurement and also led or survived an ERP implementation, you are unusually well suited to them and probably have not noticed.

Credentials that travel

Public procurement certification opens development sector and NGO consulting, which is remote heavy and contract based. That is a different market from corporate procurement and it is reachable from more countries.

What to put on the CV

If you want systems work, the ERP implementation belongs in your first three bullets, not buried at the end of a role about supplier negotiation.
